Clad-rack warehouse

In a clad-rack warehouse the racking is the building: the frames carry the roof and the wall cladding, so there is no separate steel structure around the storage. It is the normal route to a high-bay facility, and Rejuva delivers it with the design, the installation and the trades around it under one point of contact.

What a clad-rack warehouse is

A conventional warehouse is a steel building with racking stood up inside it, which means paying for two structures that each carry their own loads. A clad-rack warehouse merges them: the racking frames are designed to take the roof, the wall cladding, the wind and the snow as well as the pallets, and the envelope is fixed straight to them.

Removing the second structure is what lets these buildings go high, well past what a conventional shed and a counterbalance truck can work, and it takes both cost and construction time out of a project of that size. It also fixes the layout early, because the racking grid is now the building grid and changing it later is a structural question rather than a storage one.

How the store is worked is a separate decision. A clad-rack building can be served by trucks or by cranes and shuttles under software control. Automation and clad-rack construction often arrive together, because both suit very tall stores, but neither one requires the other. What a clad-rack warehouse gives you

Where clad-rack construction is used

It suits operations whose volume justifies a purpose-built store rather than fitting racking into a shed that already exists.

  • Manufacturing plants

    A high-bay store beside production, holding raw material and finished goods, often built as part of the plant itself.

  • Distribution centres

    Large, repetitive pallet volumes where capacity per square metre of land is the number that governs the business case.

  • Cold storage

    Where the cost of keeping the volume cold makes a tall, compact envelope worth far more than it does in an ambient building.

  • Constrained sites

    Operations that have run out of land rather than out of demand, and need the capacity to come from height.
