High security bollards
A bollard is the simplest protection there is and often the most effective, because it answers a question a driver would otherwise answer for themselves: how close can I get. Rejuva supplies and installs them for entrances, loading areas, walkways and the vulnerable structures in between.
What bollards are for
Vehicle incursions, reversing collisions and unauthorised access are constant risks on an industrial site, and a single incident can damage the structure, injure someone and stop the operation while it is put right.
Bollards make the boundary physical. They control where vehicles can go, protect what stands behind them and guide the traffic through the site, which is three jobs done by one post set in the floor.
Where they earn their place

Loading and unloading areas
They mark the operational zone and protect people during vehicle movements, which is exactly when attention is on the load rather than on who is standing where.

Entrances and exits
The point where vehicles and pedestrians converge, and where a bollard keeps a vehicle off the pavement and away from the facade.

Walkways and transit routes
Separation between a pedestrian route and a vehicle lane, with reflective elements where the lighting or the traffic makes visibility the deciding factor.

Racks and columns
Corner bollards absorb and deflect the impacts that would otherwise land on a load-bearing element, which is the cheapest insurance in the building.

Perimeter and access control
A physical deterrent to unauthorised vehicles that still lets the authorised ones in, which is a question of placement more than of product.
The three types, and how to choose

Safety bollards
Sturdy posts for everyday protection of people, structures and equipment, and the right answer for most positions in most buildings.

High visibility bollards
Bright colours and reflective materials, for poorly lit areas and busy ones, where being seen matters more than what the post could survive.

Heavy duty impact bollards
Built to take a substantial vehicle impact, for the positions where a collision would be serious rather than inconvenient.
Specifying them properly
Ask what standard the bollard meets and under what conditions it was tested, which is a fair question to put to us as much as to anyone else, because "heavy duty" on its own means nothing.
Material follows the risk. Steel gives the durability and the impact resistance where a real collision is possible; a polymer post is enough, and cheaper, where the job is guidance rather than stopping a vehicle.
Then decide how it is fixed. Fixed, removable and retractable bollards all have their place, and the choice usually comes from how often the route has to open for something oversized, which is a question worth asking before rather than after the concrete is cut.
Around the building as well as inside it
Most of the damage a bollard prevents happens outside: at the yard wall, the corner of the dock and the point where reversing lorries pass the pedestrian door. Those positions are also the ones nobody looks at until something is broken.
Rejuva specifies and installs them for the routes a site actually uses, and where the same walk-round turns up a column or a rack end that needs protecting, that is dealt with in the same visit.
